Our Commitment
PrivaBase is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards to make our platform inclusive and usable for all.
Standards
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide array of disabilities, including:
- Visual impairments (blindness, low vision, color blindness)
- Hearing impairments
- Motor impairments
- Cognitive and learning disabilities
What We've Done
- Semantic HTML: We use proper heading hierarchy, landmarks, and ARIA labels throughout the platform.
- Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard.
- Color Contrast: We maintain a minimum 4.5:1 contrast ratio for normal text and 3:1 for large text.
- Focus Indicators: Visible focus rings on all interactive elements.
- Responsive Design: The platform works across screen sizes from mobile to desktop.
- Text Resizing: Content remains readable and functional when text is scaled up to 200%.
- Form Labels: All form inputs have associated labels for screen reader compatibility.
- Alt Text: Meaningful alternative text for all informational images.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, some areas are still being improved:
- Some data visualization charts may not be fully accessible to screen readers (text alternatives are provided)
- Third-party embedded content may not meet our accessibility standards
We are actively working to address these limitations and welcome feedback on areas for improvement.
